I am currently using iCloud with my desktop computer (Vista and Outlook 2007) and my iPhone 3gs; works extremely well. I now have a new laptop and I want to use iCloud on that as well (Windows 7 and Outlook 2007). Primarily, I want to be able to access a common calendar and contacts on all three devices. I am reluctant to install the iCloud Control Panel on my laptop as I fear either the loss of all Calendar and Contact entries within iCloud and my Vista desktop, or may experience duplicated entries. Outlook is a new install on my laptop and I use it as an alternate to accessing multiple webmail sites, however, there is nothing in Contacts nor Calendar. If I install the control panel onto the laptop, will the already present Calendar and Contact populate from my iCloud account?
That being said, I performed redundant backups and exports of data on the desktop PC that already had the iCloud Control Panel installed to safeguard my investment in Outlook. I then focused on my laptop and the first thing I did was to clean my PC by deleting cookies, temporary files, and similar; something I do anyway, but wanted to have my situation as pristine as possible. I also created a restore point on the laptop. After all this was completed, then I downloaded the iCloud Control panel and installed it. Once installed, I logged in and started the Control Panel. The first thing I selected was Contacts and let the sync occur. I received a success notification and I opened Outlook and found ALL my contacts intact and without duplications. After that I performed the same steps for Calendar and obtained the same level of success. Having my iPhone upgraded to iOS5, my desktop and now my laptop with the iCloud Control Panel installed on both is REALLY cool! I have all my critical contact and calendar information equally accurate and up-to-date on all three devices! The only thing I do not perform on my laptop is iPhone synchronization, which is relegated to only one PC, my desktop and will remain that way.
Here is an simple, old hack to get iCloud control panel to work on Windows XP to give you synced access to Contacts, Calenders, Reminders and Bookmarks. It also can be used to set up your me.com mail. Photostream doesn't work.
Tips: If iCloud control panel doesn't run automatically, please open it manually. For Windows 8.1, go to "Start", and click the down arrow in the bottom left corner, find "iCloud" app. For Windows 8, go to "Start", tap "iCloud". For Windows 7, go to "Start" > "All Programs", and click "iCloud" > "iCloud".
Input Apple ID and password, Click "Sign in" (forgot iCloud password?). After logging in, you can "Apply" your photos, contacts, bookmarks, etc. on iCloud control panel. And before application, you can choose to different photos and bookmarks to sync between your iOS devices and PC with this iCloud on Windows. (icloud photos not syncing?)
For photos, you can upload and store your PC photos to iCloud so that you can access them on all your iOS devices, also, for Photo Stream in your devices and iCloud Photo Sharing, it is convenient to sync them to your computer with iCloud control panel.
See, it is so easy to use iCloud control panel to configure iCloud for Windows. Having iCloud for Windows, you are allowed to go syncing, transferring, managing and deleting data of your iOS devices on your Windows computer. But you can find that in this way, you can only view part data like photos, contacts, bookmark. For more data like messages, videos, music, you have to use Aiseesoft iPhone Data Recovery to help you download iCloud backup to PC.
The iCloud control panel for Windows is intended to provide a seamless synchronization between your iOS 5 devices and your Windows computer. iCloud Windows Control Panel requires Windows Vista Service Pack 2 or Windows 7. Using this tool, any iOS device will be able to synch data with other iOS devices that have the iCloud mobile application. You just need to backup to iCloud from your iPhone or iPad and let the cloud sync them.
After modified the msi file by osca edit, success install the icloud control panel, but the photo stream column is greyed out including the Options button. I cannot click on any of the. I tried reinstalling (repair) on the msi file. Anyone can help on this
there definately is an issue with icloud and pc. sometimes rebooting pc makes photos go into photo stream folder. in control panel i can only open icloud panel once then have to reboot if i want to open again. also icloud syncs to microsoft outlook which will only open once as well then have to reboot to go back into outlook
Hi,I see all the troubles everyone is having. My wife and I are buying a Iphone4S in a few days. I use two Windows 7 pcs at home.I already have downloaded the I Cloud control panel to both pc computers along with Itunes and Safari. Since I have not bought the phone yet I am unable to start doing anything with I Cloud.
I think I have been synced the photos with the cloud but not sure. The same with updating to iOS5.I have installed the iCloud for Windows, but do not see the photos downloaded back to my windows notebook. Maybe I should turn on syncing somehow or it should start automatically after I run iClpud app and set photo syncing option on?
Jailbreaking allows you to customize your iPhone to your liking fully and even download apps that Apple currently prohibits. This jailbreaking includes things like customizing your lock screen, setting your own default apps, customizing control center, adding Touch ID or 3D Touch even for older devices, and creating shortcuts and other adjustments to the User Interface.
Users who wished to sync their MobileMe data with a PC had to download and install Apple's MobileMe Control Panel. To install, the user first had to download and install the latest version of iTunes, and then install MobileMe Control Panel. After installation, the user signed into the control panel using their username and password, and could control sync settings for contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and iDisk settings such as public folder access, in a similar manner to the MobileMe preference panel built into Mac OS X.[12]
On October 12, 2011, alongside the release of iOS 5 and iPhone 4S, iCloud was released to new users, with current MobileMe subscribers being able to move over to iCloud either immediately or anytime before June 30, 2012 when MobileMe would be permanently discontinued (except for limited download abilities). In addition to MobileMe's email and calendar services, iCloud syncs files across multiple devices. As promised at WWDC 2011, Apple began the service during fall 2011, giving every user of either or both iOS 5 or Mac OS X Lion 5 GB of cloud data storage for the basic service free at the point of usage, with additional paid-for tiers for more data storage also being available.[46][47] @me.com was retained as the default email domain address for new iCloud users. A year later, around fall 2012, Apple started to sign-up new users to free @icloud.com email addresses, with previous @me.com users also able to continue using that email domain concurrently; as done on previous service changes.
For Synology NAS with SSL support use port 5006 and the following settings in your NAS: In Synology DSM Navigate to control panel > Terminal & SNMP Select Enable SSH Then enter Advanced Settings and set it to High Now it will work on port 5006 with https.
Now open the iCloud control panel on your Windows tablet and log into your iCloud account. Click the Photos option to tell iCloud to sync your photos on to your tablet, and then click the Options button as well.
Step 2: A toast notification will come up, asking Tap to choose what happens with this device. If you don't see this notification on your computer, you need to enable the Autoplay feature in the control panel.
i was using icloud control panel for outlook. but i later on found calendar entries can only be under icloud folder rather than outlook default folder. since invitation via e-mail can only be placed in outlook default folder, there will be an issue that invitations cannot be placed in icloud folder and be synced automatically. then, i changed to an alternative called evo collaborator for outlook. it works perfectly. for those of you who have the same issue can try it out. google this outlook add-in if you want to.
